I recently got to go to my first photo shoot. It was at Empire Cinemas, a client of House PR's, which is the largest independent cinema chain in the UK. The new Disney Pixar movie, Finding Dory, is coming out soon and Empire wanted some buzz. This buzz, in the PR industry, will turn into people thinking of Empire when it comes times to go to a cinema to see the new movie. The pictures were for a new study conducted by House PR and Empire which asked cinema general managers from across their 18 UK-based locations about what the strangest things are that are left behind at their theatres. This fun and interesting piece will get picked up by news agencies which will increase buzz around our brand and keeping them in the public "eye". This photo shoot took pictures of the strangest things found in the cinemas at their best (and branded) cinema. The venue itself was amazing, if I could I would see every movie there. Anyways, I got to help put together the photography brief and come up with some creative picture ideas around our props which were toilet rolls, a loaf of bread, a tub of butter with finger marks taken out of it, a lot of coats and a Simon Cowell blow up doll (which are really strange to be brought, let alone left behind at a cinema). I even starred in a few shots by posing under the jackets with my arms out to look as if I was drowning. Why are photo shoots important? They give journalists high-resolution images to run with stories. This not only makes the coverage easier to run and strengthen their stories, but encourage media outlets to run the story at all.
