I did the PR thing

Unlike the thing that I posted about before, which was completely written by me, THIS thing was not. And thats the point of PR. We pitch stories out to journalists and they cover them. We do our job of making the story seem interesting and the journalist does their job of finding out the facts and reporting them. This is an example of what we do. I pitched this story out to a journalist at this publication and after an intensely nerve-wracking conversation over the phone, she covered it! Now our client, OpenTable, has another piece of coverage showing customers in Edinburgh that OpenTable has a presence in their town and that they might think about trying the service out. We aren't promoting the restaurant, but promoting OpenTable as a valid source of information in the food industry which might make costumers view the service favorably and could make them more keen to use it. By using this specific restaurant in our pitch, we make the story relevant to Edinburgh reporters and they are more keen to run the story.
